Regular Quota For Hong Kong Private Cars To Macau And Points To Notes
Since the commissioning of Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge in 2018, Hong Kong and Macao cross-boundary non-commercial private cars are regulated by a quota system jointly administered by the governments of Hong Kong and Macao. Permits will be grant to the succussed applicants which will be valid for no more than three years.
- Eligibility of Quota Application

Applicant must be a Hong Kong Permanent Resident
|
Applicant must be a company (i) registered in both Hong Kong and Macao, or (ii) registered in Hong Kong and associated with another company registered in Macao
|
Being employed with remunerations in Macao or have established a registered company in Macao; and
|
Applicant must provide the proof of tax payment and documents with company information in Hong Kong and Macao respectively; and
|
Registered owner of the Hong Kong private car must be the applicant
|
Registered owner of the Hong Kong private car must be a registered company in Hong Kong, associated registered company in Macao, or a director of aforementioned two companies.
| Each applicant is allowed to submit one application only. Submitting more than one application may result in disqualification.

Not more than two designated drivers. Driver (1) must be the applicant and Driver (2) must be the applicant’s parents, spouse or children.

Not more than 3 designated drivers, they must be staff members or directors of the applicant and authorised by the applicant in writing

All designated drivers must be Hong Kong Permanent Residents and hold a valid Hong Kong full Driving Licence with private car entitlement

- Application Procedures
The Transport Department will co-ordinate the applications of Hong Kong and Macao licences and filing records formalities of the Mainland government authorities. With the applicants?consent, the Transport Department will pass the information of applicants, vehicles and drivers to the Macao and the Mainland government authorities for licence and permit applications and filing records. Applications will be processed by the three government authorities separately.

Quota application period is subject to the announcement of Transport Department. The applicant should ensure they fulfilled the requirement and complete the application before the deadline.
